Tympanometry Next, we perform tympanometry to evaluate the health of your middle ear. This test helps detect issues such as middle ear infections or a perforated eardrum. Pure Tone Audiometry We then conduct pure tone audiometry, which measures your hearing sensitivity. If hearing loss is present, this test helps determine whether it's conductive, sensorineural, or mixed in nature. Speech Audiometry Following that, we carry out speech audiometry to assess how clearly you understand spoken words at different volume levels, providing insight into your speech comprehension ability. ACT Testing We also offer Auditory Contrast Threshold (ACT) testing—a rare and advanced tool in New Zealand. Unlike traditional tone or speech tests, ACT uses modulated noise signals to assess how much contrast your brain needs to distinguish between different sounds. This gives us a strong prediction of how well you’ll be able to understand speech in noisy environments.
