Loud noise is one of the most common causes of hearing loss. Here's how you can protect your hearing:
Wear Ear Protection: Choose the right level of protection based on the environment. Here’s a simple guide:
Hearing Protection Classes
Class 1: < 90 dB (Quiet environments like offices and libraries)
Class 2: 90 - 95 dB (Light industrial areas, small workshops)
Class 3: 95 - 100 dB (Carpentry, agricultural sites)
Class 4: 100 - 105 dB (Construction, factory floors)
Class 5: 105 - 110 dB (Airports, live events, power tools)
Maintain Safe Distances: Stay as far away as possible from loud sound sources to reduce exposure.
Keep Volume Levels Down: Whether using over-ear headphones or in-ear devices like AirPods, if the person next to you can hear the sound, the volume is too high. Prolonged exposure to loud sounds can cause hearing damage.
Take Listening Breaks: Give your ears regular breaks from listening to music or audio to prevent strain.
